Visiting
Brighton was something I had wanted to do long before I even moved to
Southampton. Being only a train ride away and a 5 minute walk from the train
station I knew at some point (when I got a free day) I would get the chance to
visit the seaside town.
February 28th
came along and I was on a train to Brighton. I was so excited to finally visit
a place I’d longed to see. If it wasn’t
for my Uni project I had going on at the time I probably wouldn’t have been so
soon as this specific day an exhibition was on at the Brighton museum and Art
gallery. I took the trip alone which didn’t faze me one bit, being able to
spend the day exploring the town, I think I was just to memorized by my
surroundings to even realise I was by myself.
Before I moved back home I knew I had to
go back! This time I had company, my sister and best friend which meant I could
get some pictures taken. They’ve been in my phone ever since just waiting to be
shared so credit to them for being my photographers for the day.
Every street I
walked down there was something new to look at from the multi coloured houses
to the artwork/murals painted on the walls all Brighton’s little quirks truly
make a special place. As for the shops, I couldn’t believe the vast amount of
independent brands/jewellers and vintage shops particularly down the North
Laines which I must say had to be my favourite part of the town, it was like a
mini London a much less busier one must I add. And that doesn’t even cover the
rest of the shops towards the centre which like any centre was full of your
fashion retailers. Around every corner there was something new to discover.
How can I forget Brighton Beach! When I
first set eyes on such magnificent scenery it left me a bit speechless. I think
for someone like me who comes from a place by the sea and hadn’t been for quite
some time it gave me a real sense of home when I first walked stepped foot on
the stony beach. It was everything I had imagined it to be and more.
Its only now looking at these photographs
that takes me straight back to those streets. I loved how my outfit perfectly complimented
that red door, I loved the laughter and smile I had on my face that day,
nothing but love for you Brighton, one day maybe we’ll meet again. And for you
reading this if you ever get the chance to visit such a place I say you do it!
